Welch Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Chelsea Welch, a senior on the Wright State women's basketball team, has been named the WSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Athlete of the Month for the second straight month.
The women's basketball team went 5-2 in December. Chelsea averaged 20.4 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 52% from the field and 82% from the line. She had 29 points at Belmont and was named the Horizon League Player of the Week in late December. She added 44 assists and 15 steals.  She had five 20+ scoring games.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
