The Wright State volleyball team will stay on the road for a rare mid-week Horizon League match at Oakland Wednesday at 6 pm. There will be no TV, but fans can follow live stats by clicking here.
Wright State
The Raiders, 9-7 and 1-3, took two 3-1 losses last weekend at Youngstown State and at Cleveland State. Celia Powers led WSU with 27 kills over the two sets for a 3.38 kill average, hitting .288. Freshmen Lainey Stephenson and Jenna Story collected 63 assists and 43 digs, respectively. Mallory Ladd added 17 kills over the two days. Teddie Sauer leads the league in service aces with 26 as Stephenson is fourth in assists.
Oakland
The Grizzlies, 5-10 and 1-3, are riding a three-match losing streak. After beating YSU to start the Horizon League slate, the Grizzlies lost to Cleveland State, IUPUI and Northern Kentucky. Aleksandra Malek leads OU with 148 kills and 2.79 average. Jordan Lentz is averaging nearly 8.5 assists per set while Lindsay Wightman sits with 4.5 digs a set. Jamie Walling is currently sixth in hitting percentage in the league at .258. Oakland was picked to finish second in the preseason poll. OU leads 11-8 in mall-time matches against the Raiders.
Next Up
The Raiders come home to host Green Bay Sunday at 2 pm on ESPN3. The soccer teams will host UIC Saturday with the women playing at 3 pm and the men at 7 pm.
