
Raiders put win streak on the line at home Thursday

Coming off of their sixth straight win, the Raiders will be returning to the Nutter Center to welcome the Kentucky State Thorobreds on December 13th. Thursday's contest is slated for an 11:00 a.m. tip-off, and will part of the annual Education Day celebration. Wright State will be hosting nearly 1000 students from schools around Dayton.
Wright State
The Raiders women's basketball team completed play in the two-day tournament in Manhattan on Sunday, defeating the host Manhattan Jaspers handily and capturing the tournament title, their second in two attempts this season after winning the Challenge in Music City in Nashville.
Behind the strength of 16 points in Sunday's contest, Michal Miller was named the Most Valuable Player for the tournament, and Mackenzie Taylor was also named to the All-Tournament team. In Sunday's contest, Mackenzie Taylor also joined teammate Emily Vogelpohl as the 21st member of the 1,000 point club for the Wright State women's basketball team with a second-half three-pointer, three of her ten points on the game.
Kentucky State
The Thorobreds, 5-5, are coming off of a 71-64 win over McKendree University. After dropping five straight games, the Thorobreds have righted the ship and put together two strong wins in which they won by an average of 15 points.
Kentucky State have two players averaging in double-digits on offense. Senior center Brooke Wallace is averaging 12.6 and also is leading the team in rebounds with 10.2 per game. From the floor Wallace is averaging an astonishing .545 shooter percentage with a majority of her work being done inside the paint. Junior guard Jessie Kee is averaging 10.1 points per game, a majority of which has come when Kee comes off of the bench for the Thorobreds.
