3 PM Game is Youth Basketball Day
The Wright State men's basketball team will continue its hunt for the Horizon League crown as they host IUPUI Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. The game will be shown on ESPN3 and heard on Big 106.5 or the iHeart app with Chris Collins and Jim Brown.
Youth Basketball Day
Sunday is Youth Basketball Day and a chance for your young player to be part of the pregame tunnel, and a post-game autograph session. For more information, call 937-775-4934 or click here and use the promo code YOUTH18.
Wright State
The Raiders, 6-8 and 0-1, are coming off an overtime 75-72 loss to UIC Friday night. Cole Gentry led all scorers with 24 points, including eight in the five-minute overtime. Mark Hughes and Alan Vest each pitched in 11 points and seven and eight rebounds, respectively. Loudon Love, limited by injury, put up nine points and 10 boards in 17 minutes.
Bill Wampler leads a threesome of Raiders in double-figure scoring at 14.5 points per game with Gentry at 13.9 and Love at 13.6. Love ranks first on the team in rebounding and third in the league at 8.9.  WSU leads the overall series 10-3, splitting the games last year as the home team won each meeting. IUPUI won 66-56 on Feb. 22 and WSU won 60-52 on Dec. 30.
IUPUI
The Jaguars, 8-6 and 0-1, are coming off a 92-77 loss at Northern Kentucky Friday night. Five Jags scored in double figures in that game, led by Jaylen Minnett off the bench with 14 points. NKU held a 21-point lead at halftime at 51-30 while IUPUI outscored the Norse 47-41 in the second half.
Off to one of their best starts, two Jaguars average in double figures. Camron Justice, a transfer from Vanderbilt and former Mr. Kentucky Basketball, leads the team at 20.4. Among their non-conference wins were Boston College 76-69 and Bradley 85-73. IUPUI was picked to finish sixth in the preseason Horizon League Poll.
