Raiders End Regular Season on the Road

The Wright State men's basketball team will end the regular season with games at IUPUI Friday at 11 am and at UIC Sunday at 6 pm.
The Raiders, tied for first place in the Horizon League with Northern Kentucky, will carry a record of 21-8 and 13-3 into this week's action. The 13 league wins ties the school record for conference wins set by the 2007 and 2016 teams.Â
Grant Benzinger continues to lead the Raiders at 14.5 points per game after leading the Raiders to a 72-63 win over Cleveland State Sunday with a 20-point performance. Loudon Love, a seven-time Freshman of the Week recipient, averages 12.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Mark Hughes had 16 points against the Vikings and averages 10.1 points for the Raiders.
Wright State won the initial match-ups over both UIC (65-61) and IUPUI (60-52) to start the league season in late December. The Raiders lead the UIC series 30-27 and the IUPUI series 10-2.
Both games will air on 106.5 FM/iHeart app with Chris Collins and Jim Brown as well as ESPN3.
IUPUI JAGUARS
- The Jaguars, 10-17 and 7-9, have won three of its last four games, including at Milwaukee and Oakland at home Sunday.
- Aaron Brennan leads IUPUI with a 12.8 points per game average while Ron Patterson and TJ Henderson each average just under 11 points a game.
- IUPUI holds an 8-3 mark on their homecourt of Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
- Evan Hall has posted double-doubles in the last two games.
- The Flames, 17-12 and 12-4, have won nine of its last ten games, including Green Bay and Detroit Mercy over the weekend.
- Its lone loss in that period came against Cleveland State at home on February 10.
- The 12 league wins are the most since the Flames went to the NCAA Tournament in 2004.
- UIC will host Northern Kentucky on Friday before the Raiders come to town.
- Illinois-Chicago has a 10-5 home record.
- Dikembe Dixson leads the Flames at 14.1 points per game with Marcus Ottey sitting at 13.6 points per game.
- Jordan Blount grabs 7.0 rebounds a game while Tia Odiase has 91 blocks.
- The Horizon League Tournament is next for the Raiders March 2-6 in Detroit.
