The Wright State men's tennis team enters the 2018 Horizon League Championship this week as the number six overall seed. The tournament begins on Friday and goes through Sunday, as the top six seeds in the conference qualified. The tournament will be played at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana and aired on the new subscription service ESPN+.
Â
As the six seed in the Horizon League Championship, the Raiders will take on number three seed Youngstown State in their first match of the tournament. The match will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday. With a victory, the Raiders will challenge number two seed Cleveland State on Saturday at 3:00 pm. The championship match will be played on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Â
Entering the postseason, the Raiders will be led by senior Michal Kianicka and sophomore Param Pun. Kianicka was named to the first team all Horizon League team, while Pun was named to the second team all Horizon League team earlier this week. The Raiders are 13-11 on the season, and had a conference record of 2-5. This was the first time the Raiders finished above .500 on the season since 2011-2012, and they will be looking to build on that success in their first Horizon League Tournament match since 2013-2014.

The Penguins are 11-10 on the season, and have a 5-2 conference record. They are entering this postseason match on a four-game win streak, and defeated IUPUI in their last match. Youngstown State defeated Wright State 5-2 in their lone matchup of the season, as the Raiders will be looking to avenge that loss on Friday.
