Raiders set for Wilmington College Invite
10/10/2019 3:25:00 PM | Cross Country
The Wright State cross country teams are back in action on Friday afternoon as the men's and women's teams compete at the seventh annual JennaStrong Fall Classic on Friday at Wilmington College. The women's 5K race will start at 4:30 p.m. and the men's 8K race will follow at 5:15 p.m.
This is the 27th edition of the Wilmington College Fall Classic overall and is the seventh to honor former Wilmington College runner Jenna Parlette. On August 31, 2013, Jenna collapsed while leading the Franklin Invitational and passed away three days later. To celebrate Jenna's life the WC Fall Classic was renamed The JENNASTRONG Fall Classic.
The course is relatively flat as it winds through the campus, through creeks, the arboretum, pastures, a farm, and through the woods.
Last time out competing with a full roster, the Raider women won the Rumble in the Fort back on September 13 and the Wright State men placed third overall. Shelby Nolan was named the Horizon League's Women's Runner of the Week following the race after finished second overall with a time of 17:50.20 in the women's 5K race at the Rumble in the Fort and pacing the Raider women to a first place team finish as five Wright State runners placed inside the top 10.
