Wright State falls at UT Arlington Wednesday

The Wright State women's basketball team battled against UT Arlington all evening before the Mavericks held on late to hand the Raiders a 68-62 loss on Wednesday evening in Arlington, Texas.
With the loss, Wright State falls to 3-3 overall while UT Arlington improves to 4-3 overall. The Raiders remain in Texas and take on SMU Friday night, with tipoff scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
A back-and-forth contest all night, the Raiders trailed by one after the first 10 minutes but responded to take a 30-26 lead into the locker room at halftime. The third quarter was the difference, as UT Arlington outscored Wright State 23-14 out of the halftime break to take a five-point lead into the fourth quarter.
The Raiders cut the margin down to four points with 3:40 remaining before UT Arlington responded with the next five points to extend the lead up to nine. Wright State went on a quick four-point run to pull within four points with 1:28 to go, but was unable to get any closer as the Mavericks held on for the win.
Angel Baker finished with a team-high 23 points for the Raiders, adding two assists, four rebounds and three steals. Michal Miller scored eight points of her own, pulled down four rebounds and had a team-leading five assists. Tyler Frierson and Alexis Stover both contributed six points, respectively.
Wright State shot 37.9 percent for the game, while UT Arlington finished the night shooting 47.9 percent. Wright State hit seven three-pointers, but was just 5-for-9 from the free throw stripe as UT Arlington went to the line 22 times (15-for-22, 68.2 percent).
The Raiders won the battle on the boards, out rebounding the Mavericks 38-34 overall while pulling down more offensive rebounds. UT Arlington had a 31-26 advantage on the defensive glass.
