
Raiders set to face SMU Mustangs Friday

The Wright State women's basketball team stays on the road for the fifth consecutive game this season as the Raiders are set to faceoff against the Mustangs of SMU on Friday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT in Texas. The Raiders are 3-3 on the season, while the Mustangs are also 3-3 heading into the second month of play.

The Raiders are coming off a 62-68 loss on the road at UT Arlington. Angel Baker recorded her third consecutive contest with 23 points and led the team in total points scored for the third consecutive time this season. Michal Miller added eight points of her own and had a team leading five assists against the Mavericks. Alexis Stover and Tyler Frierson both added six points apiece, respectively.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- The Mustangs opened their 2019-2020 campaign at home against McNeese on November 5, walking away with an 81-60 victory. SMU has also tallied victories against Rice (55-43) but have fallen to Northern Colorado (52-61) and Texas Christian, by a final score of 56-57. SMU walked away with 1-1 record during the Pacific Thanksgiving Classic after defeating CSUN 68-58 on November 29 before falling to Pacific 49-77 on November 30.
- Travis Mays enters his fourth season at the helm of SMU and during his time with the Mustangs he has complied an overall record of 43-57. Mays arrived on the Hilltop after 14 years as an assistant coach, where he served under three Hall of Fame coaches, and 11 years playing professionally.
- SMU finished ninth in the American Athletic Conference during their 2018-19 campaign, finishing with an overall record of 11-19 and 5-11 in the AAC.
