@WSU_SB Prepares for Liberty Tournament

After finishing the UAB Tournament with a 2-3 record on opening weekend, the Raider softball squad will travel to Lynchberg, Virginia to participate in the Liberty Invitational. Currently, Wright State is scheduled to face five different teams over the course of four days in Liberty, Princeton, Bucknell, Delaware State, and Valparaiso, respectively.

The Raiders will open the tournament Thursday against the host Liberty Flames, who won 49 games last year on their way to a Big South championship and an NCAA Regional birth.

At UAB, Madison Whitaker finished 8-14 with 5 RBI to lead the Raider offense. The sophomore enters the tournament ranked second in the Horizon League for batting average (.571). As a team, Wright State stayed patient at the plate, drawing 18 walks while only surrendering eight. Lexie Hilling picked up two wins without surrendering an earned run in relief, and Makenna Durieux threw 14 innings while striking out seven. Olivia Otani and Maddux Hughes also saw action in the circle.
