Game 1 – vs. Austin Peay

1^stInning

The Governors jumped out to an early lead, taking advantage of Raider miscues on defense and totaling four hits and two runs in the frame. The Raiders drew a pair of walks and Meredith Keel stole the first base of her career, but Wright State couldn't bring either runner home.

3^rdInning

Starting pitcher Olivia Otani set down Austin Peay quickly in the 2^ndand 3^rdinnings and the offense responded as well, scoring a run in the inning. Jordyn Poulson singled, stole second, advanced to third on a groundout, and finally scored on a sac fly by Madison Whitaker. The Raiders left the bases loaded, unable to secure the potential tying or winning run.

4^thInning

The Governors added a run but the Raiders battled back to tie the game. Macy McCall and Madison Hartman singled to lead off the bottom half of the inning and later scored thanks to RBIs from Meredith Keel and Madison Whitaker, her second of the game.

6^thInning

Austin Peay used a big inning in the sixth to grab the lead and never looked back. The offensive onslaught included a homer by Governor second baseman Emily Moore.

Game 1 Recap
The Raiders fought hard in the season opener but ultimately came up short in an 8-3 final. Wright State scored their three runs on seven hits. Madison Whitaker finished the game 1 of 3 at the plate with 2 RBI and also contributed 6 assists defensively at her 3^rdbase position.

Game 2 – @ UAB

1^stInning

The Raiders struck first to open the second game of the doubleheader. Meredith Keel hit a lead-off single and eventually scored from a Brianna Hutchinson groundout RBI. Wright State drew two walks but couldn't score the runners. UAB responded by adding a pair of runs in each of the first three innings including a home run to lead off the second.

3^rdInning
After falling behind 4-1 after 2, Wright State battled back with a two run inning of their own. Madison Whitaker singled to begin the frame and Madison Mills scored her three batters later. Rebekah Lenos came into the game as a pinch runner and scampered home on a wild pitch.

4^thInning

Madison Whitaker recorded her third RBI of the day in the 4^th, capping the Raider scoring efforts. Her single scored Mackenzie Soma who drew a walk to start the fourth.

6^thInning
The Blazers added an insurance run in the 5^thand used an offensive explosion the next inning to close the game out in the 6^thinning by run rule. UAB tagged the Raiders with five hits and five runs and also took advantage of a defense miscue, one of four errors in the game for Wright State.

Game 2 Recap
The Raiders dropped their second game of the day to the host team, UAB. Madison Whitaker finished both games 3 of 5 from the plate and 3 total RBI to lead the Raider offense. Makenna Durieux pitched all 5.2 innings for Wright State, but got roughed up in her debut, surrendering 7 earned runs on 16 hits.

The Raiders will return to the UAB Tournament Saturday morning, facing Louisiana Monroe at 11:00 AM to open the day. Wright State will take on UAB in a rematch later in the day at 4:00 PM.
