@WSU_MTennis Puts Up Fight Against Spartans, Falls 2-5

In their second road match of the weekend, the Wright State men's tennis team fell to the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing by a score of 2-5. The loss drops the Raiders to 7-11 on the season. The Raiders will begin their conference slate next weekend when they travel to Highland Heights to take on the Northern Kentucky Norse at 11:00 AM.
On the doubles courts, third pairing Leighton Brandon and Fernando Nardelli fell 4-6 in a close match to Colin Harvey and Nick Williams. On court one, Param Pun and Lorenzo Maccarini tied up the doubles competition with a 7-5 win against John Carlin and Jack Winkler. Second pair Theo Bourghelle and Javier Alvarez de la Villa were able to secure the doubles point for the Raiders with their 7-6 win against Ivan Rakic and Carson Gates.
In singles competition, Param Pun was the only player to come up with a point for the Raiders when he won the fist set 6-4 then his opponent retired due to injury in the second with the score standing at 3-3.
On court two, Lorenzo Maccarini and Ivan Rakic closed out the night of play with a tiebreaker in the third set. After dropping the first set 4-6, Maccarini was able to take the second set 6-4 against Rakic. In the third set, Rakic came out ahead of Maccarini 10-8 to secure the point for the Spartans and finish out the night.
