In their first of three matches this weekend, the Wright State men's tennis team fell 1-6 against the Youngstown State Penguins. The loss moves the Raiders' record to 7-17 overall and 0-5 in Horizon League play. The Penguins improved their record to 10-7 and 3-1 in the conference.

The Raiders lost the doubles point on Courts One and Three. Danylo Veremeichuk and Joao Garretto took down Param Pun and Lorenzo Maccarini 6-2 on Court One. At No. 3, Pol Virgili Blanco and Yossi Dahan earned a 6-4 win against Javier Alvarez de la Villa and Theo Bourghelle.

Fernando Nardelli was the Raiders sole point-getter with a win in straight sets against Luke Purser on Court Three. Both Javier Alvarez de la Villa and Leighton Brandon both fell in close three set matches.

Up Next
The Raiders have to matches on Sunday beginning at 9:00 AM against Cleveland State. In the afternoon, the Raiders will face the Wittenberg Tigers with the senior players being honored before the match.
