The Wright State women's tennis team fell 2-5 at Oakland Grizzlies on Friday afternoon in their penultimate match of the regular season. The loss sets the Raiders' regular season record at 14-14 overall and 4-4 in the Horizon League.
The Raiders continued their excellence on the doubles courts this season taking two of three matches against the Grizzlies. After falling 0-6 on court three, Jillian Milano and Grace Whitney won 7-5 while Madison Riley and Haily Morgan won 7-6 to secure the doubles point for the Raiders.The newly formed duo of Milano and Whitney improved their record to 3-0 this spring. Riley and Morgan moved to 16-8 overall and 5-3 in league play while playing in the No.1 position for the Raiders.
In singles competition, the Raiders received their next point from Jillian Milano who won 6-2, 2-6, and 6-2 against Alexandra Whall on court four. With her win, Milano's record improved to 18-10 and 6-2 in conference play. Andreea Craciun fell in three sets at the top of the order for the Raiders by scores of 6-7, 6-4, 1-6 against the Horizon League's top winner at No.1 Singles in Ava Thielman. On court three, Madison Riley fell in three sets against Dasha Artamonova. After splitting the first two sets, the pair went to extra extra games with Artamonova coming out on top of a 7-6 set.Â
