The Raiders started off their weekend with a 6-1 win over the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders moved above .500 with a 12-11 season record and improved their conference record to 3-1 this spring.Â
The Raiders' against win Green Bay gave Head Coach Eric Burns his 300th victory of his coaching tenure for his women's teams. During his four years at Wright State, Burns has tallied a 68-46 record with the Raiders women's tennis team.Â
The Raiders were able to tally the first point of the day by taking two of the doubles matches against the Phoenix. On court one, Haily Morgan and Madison Riley won 6-1 and improved their duos record to 13-6 playing primarily at the top of the order. On Court Three, Grace Whitney and Luisa Pelayo won 6-4 to secure the doubles point for the Raiders. Whitney and Pelayo moved their doubles record to 13-4 with the win. Morgan/Riley and Pelayo/Whitney are now both tied for the most doubles wins in the Horizon League this season.Â
On the singles courts the Raiders took five of six matches to take their third conference win. Wright State earned wins from Andreea Craciun, Haily Morgan, Luisa Pelayo, Madison Riley, and Jillian Milano.Â
