The Wright State women's tennis team fell 3-4 against the Milwaukee Panthers in their fifth Horizon League match of the season. The loss sets the Raiders' record to 12-12 overall and 3-2 in the conference.Â
Third pairing Andreea Craciun and Jillian Milano won a dominating 6-0 match against Agata Jurczak and Nikki Milner but the Raiders were unable to capitalize on their effort after Milwaukee took the matches on Courts One and Two. The Panthers' two wins would send them into the singles competition with a one point lead over the Raiders.Â
The Raiders would be able to tie the Panthers with win a 6-0, 6-2 win from Luisa Pelayo and a 6-4, 6-1 win from Madison Riley. After one more point from the Panthers, Jillian Milano would tie the team scores at 3-3 with her 6-4, 7-6 win on Court Five. Haily Morgan and Mayya Perova went three sets on Court Two with Morgan taking the first and Perova stringing off the next two against the Raiders to secure the team win for Milwaukee.
Up NextÂ
The Raiders will be back at home next weekend for three matches against Youngstown State, Cleveland State, and Wittenberg. Senior Day will be prior to the Wittenberg match.
