The Wright State men's soccer team returns home to Alumni Field on Tuesday night to host future Horizon League foe Purdue Fort Wayne in a non-conference matchup set for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Raiders enter the match on a three-game winning streak while the Mastodons have won two of their last three as well.
Â
The Raiders opened Horizon League play on the road with a 4-1 victory on Saturday night at Milwaukee as Jackson Dietrich tallied a goal and an assist to lead the offense. Dietrich's efforts were rewarded by the conference office on Monday, who tabbed him as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week.
Â
Wright State is 4-1 in the month of September, including a victory in its lone home game of the season (September 10 vs. Cincinnati). Conversely, Purdue Fort Wayne has gone on the road just once to date in 2019 and fell to IUPUI on September 8.
Â
The Raiders have owned the series that dates back to 1983, bringing an 11-1-1 record into Tuesday night's matchup. Wright State is 8-0-1 against the Mastodons at home, with the last matchup at Alumni Field resulting in a 0-0 tie in the 2017 season. The Raiders won the last matchup between the teams by a 3-2 score on the road in 2018, with Purdue Fort Wayne's lone win coming in October 2005.
