
Raiders remain on road, set to face IUPUI Saturday

The Wright State women's basketball team remains on the road and looks to stay in the win column as the Raiders face off against IUPUI on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. from Indianapolis.

The Raiders are coming off a 58-43 victory on the road against UIC on Thursday evening. Thursday's contest saw the score tied seven times and five lead changes before Wright State took control and remained in the driver's seat for the remainder of the contest. The Raiders recorded 14 steals to the Flames six, outscoring them 15-6 on fast break points. 28 of Wright State's 58 points came from the bench while 19 more came from second chance opportunities.
Freshman Jada Roberson tallied her third consecutive (4th overall) double-digit scoring night as she led the efforts for the Raiders with 16 points. Roberson finished the contest shooting 6-for-9 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line, while pulling down seven rebounds for Wright State. Angel Baker added 12 points to the scorebook going 6-for-17 from the field and pulling down four rebounds. Tyler Frierson had a game-leading 12 rebounds for the Raiders.
With the victory, Wright State improved to 9-7 overall and 4-1 in Horizon League play while UIC fell to 2-14 overall and 1-4 in HL action.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- In October, IUPUI was picked to finish third in the Horizon League Preseason poll earing 85 points and two first place votes. Macee Williams was nabbed as the HL Preseason Player of the Year as well as being named to the Preseason First Team.
- Austin Parkinson enters his 10th season at the helm of the IUPUI women's basketball program. The program's all-time wins leader successfully transitioned the Jaguars from the Summit League to the Horizon League before the 2017-18 season and was named the 2017-18 Horizon League Coach of the Year for his success.
- IUPUI opened their 2019-20 at home against Ball State, where they walked away with a 65-48 victory. The Jaguars' schedule included contests against Butler and No. 17 Miami (FL). IUPUI is currently 10-6 overall and 4-1 in HL play as they defeated Northern Kentucky 89-61 on Thursday.
