Raider Men's Soccer welcomes eight signees

Wright State men's soccer coach Jake Slemker has announced the signing of eight players join the Raider program and continue their educations at Wright State University.
 
The newest Raiders are: Reece Allbaugh, Ludwig Conrad, Jared Edmonson, Chris Geddis, Bryson Najarian, Philipp Rimmler, Pete Schneider and William Shaffer.
 
"This recruiting class is full of very talented players," Slemker said. "They are coming into a program with some very high standards, and they will need to come in ready to work and train at a very high level this fall. With that said, we are extremely excited to get to work with this group. We know they are not only talented but they are good students and good guys. It's going to be fun to see this group grow and develop over the next couple of years."
 
Here's some background on each signee:
Reece Allbaugh: A native of Pickerington, Ohio, Allbaugh attended Pickerington North High School where he was named a first team all-state performer and the team MVP as a senior. Allbaugh also played the majority of his club soccer with Blast FC.
"I'm excited to come to Wright State and be a part of the Raider family. I hope to make a difference and I'm excited to see what the program achieves in the future."
 
Ludwig Conrad: A native of Powell, Ohio, Conrad attended Olentangy Liberty High School, where he played three years of varsity and was the team captain as a senior while helping the school to two district final games, two regional final games and a 2019 OHSAA state runner up finish. Conrad also played a year with Crew Academy and two years with Club Ohio before playing with Club CUP Gold.
"I have always wanted to play Division I soccer at a high level and become the best I can. I feel Wright State is the best fit for me."
 
Jared Edmonson: A native of Springboro, Ohio, Edmonson attended Springboro High School, where he led the team in scoring and was awarded Offensive Player of the Year honors as a left back. He was also named first team all-GWOC and played in the MVSSCA All-Area All-Star game. Edmonson also played club soccer with Ohio Galaxies FC.
"I'm extremely excited to become a Raider and follow in the footsteps of both of my parents. I also can't wait to become a part of the Wright State men's soccer team's success. Raider Up!"
 
Chris Geddis: A native of Sunbury, Ohio, Geddis attended Big Walnut High School and played club soccer for Ohio Premier ECNL, where he was named a 2018 ECNL All-American and was an All-Midwest ECNL performer in 2018 and 2019.
"My family and I decided Wright State was the best fit both academically and athletically."
 
Bryson Najarian: A native of Beavercreek, Ohio, Najarian attended Archbishop Alter High School, where he was named first team all-GCL, first team all-Dayton South and a second team all-state performer. Najarian also played club soccer for Cincinnati United Premier 2001 and was awarded Golden Glove and Best 11 at 2017 the USYS Nationals.
"I am very excited to be coming into the Wright State soccer program, especially coming off of a historic season this past year. This class of 2020 is a great group of guys that knows how to compete."
 
Philipp Rimmler: A native of Gruenstadt, Germany, Rimmler attended Kaiserslautern High School, where he helped his team to back-to-back European Championships while earning the MVP award. He was named All-Europe and a first team all-conference player, and also played for 1 FC Kaiserslautern (the Bundesliga youth developmental team), where he competed against many top youth teams, including Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona and Manchester United.
"Our mascot at my high school was the Raiders and we had a saying 'Once a Raider, Always a Raider.'  I am so excited to get the opportunity to play soccer at Wright State and can proudly say 'Once a Raider, Always a Raider.'"
 
Pete Schneider: A native of Beavercreek, Ohio, Schneider attended Beavercreek High School, where he was named a first team all-GWOC, first team all-Miami Valley and first team all-state performer along with earning GWOC Player of the Year honors and the GWOC Scholar Athlete Award as a senior. Schneider also played for Ohio Galaxies at the club level.
"I am ready to play for Wright State and help keep the standards set high! I'm very excited to be a part of such a successful program."
 
William Shaffer: A native of Galena, Ohio, Shaffer attended St. Francis DeSales High School, where he was the team captain, helping win an OHSAA state championship while twice being named an all-conference performer. Shaffer also played club soccer with Blast FC.
"Playing Division I college soccer has always been a dream of mine, and I am so thankful to the coaches at Wright State for helping turn that dream into a reality. I have been working for this my entire life, and I am so ready for it to finally start. After watching the great success of the team this past season, I am ready to work and hopefully add more success to the team over the next four years."
