Despite winning the doubles point to open the afternoon, the Wright State women's tennis fell to Butler 4-3 at the South Regency Tennis and Fitness Center on Sunday.
 
The Raiders won the doubles point behind wins on courts one and three. Juniors 
Luisa Pelayo and 
Grace Whitney took down Sarah Monesmith and Lauryn Padgett 6-3 in No. 1 doubles action, while sophomore 
Andreea Craciun and junior 
Jillian Milano defeated Logan White and Sara Linn (6-4) on court three.
 
In singles action, the Raiders added to their advantage with a win on court two as Pelayo defeated Padgett 6-1, 6-0 before Butler tied the match with wins on courts one and five. In No. 3 singles play, Milano defeated Emily Neal 6-4, 6-1 to regain the lead before Butler tied things up again with a win on court four. In the deciding match, the visitor's Hallie Leblebijian defeated 
Anna Marie Reynolds (6-4, 7-5) to clinch the match for Butler.
 
The Raiders now get set for their final home match to open the season, a Saturday night contest against Austin Peay scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the South Regency Tennis and Fitness Center.
