
Wright State welcomes Youngstown State to Nutter Center

The Wright State women's basketball team will look to improve to 3-1 in Horizon League play as they welcome Youngstown State to the Nutter Center Saturday afternoon, tipoff is scheduled for 2:00p.m.

The Raiders are coming off of a 78-62 victory in their #HLWBB home opener inside the Nutter Center on Thursday evening. Wright State forced 16 turnovers and were able to convert 19 points off of such opportunities. The Raiders out rebounded the Vikings 48-37 and converted 16 second chance points.
Freshman Jada Roberson turned in a career high night as she led Wright State with 17 total points. Roberson finished the contest shooting 6-for-12 from the field, 1-for-2 from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Alexis Stover added 13 points for the Raiders as she finished the contest shooting 5-for-8 from the field, 1-for-3 from three point range and 2-for-3 from the free throw line. Stover also pulled down four rebounds, recorded one block and a steal. Angel Baker and Shamarre Hale both contributed 12 points to the stat line.
With the victory, Wright State improves to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in Horizon League play (fourth place) while Cleveland State falls to 11-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play (ninth place).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- In October, Youngstown State was picked to finish fourth in the Horizon League Preseason poll, earing 71 points. Senior Mary Dunn was named to the Preseason First Team and junior Chelsea Olson was named to the Preseason Second Team for the Penguins.
- John Barnes enters his seventh season at the head of the Youngstown State Women's basketball program. Barnes owns a 113-92 record through seven seasons at Youngstown State. He has the second-most wins in program history, through 14 seasons as a collegiate head coach, he is 269-147.
- Youngstown State opened their 2019-2020 campaign with a 87-59 victory over Canisius on November 6. The Penguins are currently 9-5 overall and 2-1 in HL play as their first #HLWBB loss came on the road at Northern Kentucky as they fell to the Norse, 56-75.
