Men's Soccer treks to Chicago to take on UIC Wednesday night

DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team heads out on the road for a Wednesday night meeting with UIC on Wednesday night in Horizon League action. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET and is expected to be streamed on ESPN+

The Raiders (4-5-1, 3-2-1 HL) are coming off of a 4-0 road victory Saturday night at Purdue Fort Wayne that saw goalkeeper Sebastian Jimenez has been named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week, while UIC (5-4-2, 3-2 HL) has lost its last two matches, but is undefeated at home at 3-0-1 to date this season.

Zion Beaton leads Wright State with four goals this season, while Joe Kouadio and Conner Osterhoilt each have three goals. The Raiders have six players with double-digit shots this season, paced by 25 attempts from Beaton and 21 from Presten Manthey, followed by Osterholt with 20 shots. Reece Allbaugh has a team-leading four assists, while Manthey has added three and Ids Hannema has two assists.

Behind his first clean sheet of the season in the victory over Purdue Fort Wayne, Jimenez lowered his goals against average to 1.18, second lowest in the League, and raised his save percentage to .756, third highest in the League.

UIC is paced offensively by Younes Dayekh, who has five goals and 11 total points on 44 shots, including 18 on frame, which lead the team in all categories. Pau Mateo is next on the Flame statsheet with three goals on 16 total shot attempts. Andres Vasquez has played every minute in goal for UIC, entering the week with a 1.31 goals against average and a .746 saves percentage.
