Golf returns to action with tournament play in Georgia

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team hits the road for its first competitive rounds of October when the Raiders make the trip south to play in the Georgia State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

Through three fall tournaments this season, Wright State has had three different individual winners, while the Raiders opened the fall with a second-place team finish before back-to-back team titles at the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational and the Valpo Fall Invitational in mid-September.

Hosted by Georgia State and played at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Ga., the 54-hole Georgia State Invitational is in its 10th year and will feature the Raiders and 15 additional programs. Wright State will play the par-72, 6,694-yard course with Richmond and Lafayette in the first two rounds of continuous play shotgun on Monday before the final 18 holes are slated for a split tee 8 a.m. start on Tuesday.
