FORT WAYNE, IN – The Wright State volleyball team mad quick work of Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday night, as the Raiders swept the hosts in Horizon League action.
Â
Fort Wayne native Nyssa Baker tallied 14 kills for Wright State (19-7, 11-3 HL) as four Raiders made their return to their hometown and all saw action while contributing in the win. Along with Baker, Ellee Ruskaup finished with 15 digs, Taylor Bransfield added three hills and a block, and Teddie Sauer recorded four block assists.
Â
The Raiders rallied back in the first set for a 29-27 opening set win after fighting off seven straight set point opportunities for Fort Wayne (7-22, 5-11 HL) before rolling 25-18 and 25-19 in the final two sets of the night.

Behind Baker's match-high 14 kills was Callie Martin's double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs, while Megan Alders turned in eight of her nine kills in the first two sets, along with eight kills from Sam Ott. Along with her double-double, Martin recorded two of Wright State's three service aces while Lainey Stephenson passed out 42 of the Raiders' 50 assists. Jenna Story finished with a match-high 21 kills as four Raiders finished with double digit digs – Story, Martin, Ruskaup and Stephenson (12).

Down 24-20 in the first set after four straight Fort Wayne points, Wright State was aided by four Mastodon errors as they climbed back to tie and eventually win the set behind late kills from Alders and Ott and a pair of kills from both Martin and Baker. In the second set, the Raiders rolled off an early 11-0 run to gain control, paced by three kills from Ott, and the final set played out similarly, this time a 10-2 scoring run late in the set behind four kills from Martin.
