Volleyball set for a pair of road visits this weekend

DAYTON -Â The Wright State volleyball team begins a four-match road stretch to close the regular season this weekend with short trips to Purdue Fort Wayne and IUPUI. The Raiders and Fort Wayne will get underway on Friday night at 6 p.m. before a 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon match at IUPUI.
Fans can follow the action via live stats for both matches, while the Friday match at Fort Wayne will also be on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State won two of three last weekend to close the regular season home schedule, including a pair of four-set wins over Milwaukee and Green Bay. Sam Ott turned in a trio of double-digit kills matches, finishing with 49 kills over the weekend, while Callie Martin had three double-doubles, ending the three-match stretch with 38 kills and 47 digs. Megan Alders added 37 kills over the three matches behind a back-to-back 15 kill performances against UIC and Milwaukee.Â

Purdue Fort Wayne is 7-21 overall with a 5-10 mark in Horizon League play to date, but has lost two of its last three matches. Fort Wayne is just 2-8 at home this season, with both wins coming in HL play (2-4 at home overall in HL). Fort Wayne's Madelyn Wurster' finished with 34 kills and a .321 hitting percentage last weekend as the team won a four-set match against Robert Morris before a four-set loss to Youngstown State.
IUPUI is 5-21 overall this season with a 3-12 Horizon League mark, but is coming off of back-to-back home wins last weekend, defeating both Youngstown State and Robert Morris in four sets. IUPUI has won its last three home matches overall and is 4-6 at home this season. IUPUI's Briana Brown averaged 4.75 kills per set while hitting .442 in the two wins last weekend to earn #HLVB Player of the Week honors. She had 19 kills in both matches and hit an .545 in the win over Youngstown State.
CALLIE-ING THE LOAD
Callie Martin recorded a team leading 136 kills across 44 sets in October, a 3.09 kills/set average. She added 207 digs last month, the second-most on the roster behind Jenna Story, while her 3.30 digs/set average was the third-best in October. Martin added 29 blocks, 17 assists and five service aces this month. She finished the month with eight matches with double-digit kills, including a career-best 23 against Northern Kentucky, while tallying six double-doubles.
