INDIANAPOLIS – The Wright State volleyball team saw three players turn in double-digit kills as the Raiders grabbed a 3-1 road win at IUPUI on Saturday afternoon in Horizon League play.
Wright State (20-7, 12-3 HL) won a close opening set, 25-23, before IUPUI (5-23, 3-14 HL) won its lone set after a back-and-forth second set, 27-25. The Raiders closed the afternoon out with a pair of convincing set wins, 25-18 and 25-11, respectively.
Megan Alders finished with a team-leading 12 kills for Wright State, while
Sam Ott had 10 kills and added eight digs and
Nyssa Baker finished with 10 kills of her own. Alders and Baker each finished with five blocks, while
Grace Hauck added three blocks defensively. The Raiders finished with nine service aces as a group, paced by
Ellee Ruskaup's three, while
Lainey Stephenson and
Jenna Story each had two aces. Stephenson passed out 34 of Wright State's 51 assists, with Story finishing the afternoon with a match-high 32 digs as
Katie Meyer added 17 digs.
Wright State closes the regular season next weekend with visits to Oakland and Cleveland State. The Raiders and Oakland will get underway at 6 p.m. Friday night and fans can watch on ESPN+, while the finale at Cleveland State will be a 4 p.m. start on Saturday.
