
Track & Field prepares for Horizon League Championships

The Wright State Track and Field team is set to wrap up the 2021 outdoor season as the Horizon League Championships begins May 7, hosted by Youngstown State at Farmers National Bank Field at the Covelli Sports Complex.
In 2019, Wright State scored 89 points to finish fifth out of nine participating schools. Highlighted by Shelby Nolan's fourth-place finish in the 5000 meters with her time of 14:17.62.
The entire Horizon League Championship is set to air on ESPN 3 via the following schedule:
Friday, May 7 – 1 session
7:55 p.m. (Watch)
Saturday, May 8 – 1 session
4:00 p.m. (Watch)
Sunday, May 9 – 1 session
11:00 a.m. (Watch)
SPECTATORS
Per new Ohio Health Director orders, there is no longer a spectator capacity limit for outdoor sports. Spectators may sit in pods of 10 (rather than 6); masking is still mandated; physical distancing remains if not in the same pod. All safety protocols will be monitored by staff. Please encourage your spectators that are traveling to watch to follow all posted instructions/orders. This guidance is subject to change, and any updates will be posted on championship central and communicated to participating teams.

Tickets are available on the day of the event at spectator entrances.

Children 5 years and under: FREE
Horizon League Students (with valid ID): FREE

LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders wrapped up the 2021 regular season at the RedHawk Invite hosted by Miami University on Saturday, April 25th.
The 4x400 relay team of Alicia Neumeier, Alycea Ruhlen, Emma Carr, and Lauren Shuman earned the Raiders a fourth-place finish with their time of 4:13.33. Alicia Nuemeier turned in a personal best 1500 meter with her time of 4:42.06 to finish sixth.
Cameron Campbell paced the Raiders in the 100 meters with her time of 12.90 to place 10th. Jayla Tarver placed 15th (13.30), while Morgan Miller (21st, 13.92) and Emma Carr (22nd, 14.41) also competed in the event. In the 200 meters, Campbell placed 10th with her time of 27.10. Jayla Tarver placed 17th (28.64) and Morgan Miller placed 18th with her time of 29.36.
Notably, Wright State tallied 10 top-20 finishes in field events, paced by Callista Hess' personal-best triple jump of 33'10.75", good for a seventh-place finish.
