Nolan breaks HL record, takes first on Day One of HL Championship

The Wright State track & field team opened the 2021 Horizon League Championships at Youngstown State Friday afternoon, placing fifth (11 points) after day one of the three-day event.
Shelby Nolan paced the Raiders with her first place finish in the women's 10000 meters, setting a new school and Horizon League record, along with a personal best time of 34:42.60 to earn the Raiders first, first place title of the weekend.
In the Heptathlon, Melissa Siler finished 8th after one day with 623 total points while, Emily Maclean finished 13th with 545 total points.
Emily Maclean finished 13th in the javelin throw with her throw of 25.68m and Tatiana Brown placed 14th with her throw of 25.28m.
In the 1500 meters prelims, Lauren Shuman paced Wright State with her 8th place finish (4.47), while Emma Shigley (13th, 4.55) and Emma Johnson (21st, 5.21.81) also competed in the event.
