Halsey earns Raiders' second title on Day Two of HL Championships

The Wright State women's track and field team competed in the second day of the Horizon League Championship at Youngstown State Saturday. After two days of competition, Wright State is currently in seventh place with 21 points.
Abigail Halsey paced the Raiders with her first-place finish in the women's 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:50.98 to earn Wright State's second title of the weekend. Notably, Halsey's first-place finish earned Wright State's third consecutive steeplechase title dating back to 2018.
In the 400 meter hurdles, Kayle Willis earned the Raiders another top-10 finish with her time of 1:08.28 to finish ninth in the event. Willis also tallied a top-20 finish for Wright State in the 100-meter hurdles with her 17th place finish (16.98).
The Raiders earned a top-10 and top-20 finish in the heptathlon as Melissa Siler finished 10th with 3502 points while Emily Maclean's 2589 points earned her a 14th place finish.
The 4x100 team of Jayla Tarver, Morgan Miller, Kayle Willis, Cameron Campbell tallied a ninth-place finish for the Raiders with a season-best time of 50.14.
Cameron Campbell turned in a personal best time of 12.40 in the 100 meters to take 12th, while Jayla Tarver (19th, 12.87) and Morgan Miller (22nd, 13.46) also competed in the event.
In the 400 meter prelims, Alycea Ruhlen finished 14th with her time of 1:02.35. The 800-meter prelims saw Alicia Neumeier finish 4th (2:17.45), Lauren Shuman finish 17th (2:24.34) and Kaitlyn Miller placed 27th (2:33).
The 200-meter prelims also took place Saturday, as Cameron Campbell's time of 26.06 was good for a 13th place finish, while Jayla Tarver (20th, 27.12), Morgan Miller (23rd, 28.35), and Emma Carr (24th, 29.17) also competed for the Raiders.
