Men's Soccer set to battle Northern Kentucky on Saturday night

DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team is set to make the short trip south for a Saturday night Horizon League matchup with Northern Kentucky. The Raiders are coming off of a win last Saturday at home, while the Norse are coming off a midweek road loss.

The Raiders (2-4, 1-1 HL) tallied three first half goals last Saturday on the way to a 3-0 win against Green Bay, as Zion Beaton, Sandro Branquinho and Conner Osterholt all found the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes. Joe Kouadio leads Wright State in goals (2) and points (4), while his eight shots are one off the team lead behind Osterholt's nine. Harvey Slade also has eight shot attempts on the year.
Northern Kentucky (3-4, 1-1 HL) is coming off of a 4-0 loss at Louisville on Tuesday night and is 1-1 in Horizon League play, with the win coming over Robert Morris at home back on September 11. Jesse Randall paces the offense in goals (6), points (13) and shots (26). Dylan Bufton is the only other NKU player with multiple goals, having tallied five to date.
Northern Kentucky finished the 2021 spring season 7-2-0 overall and 7-1-0 in Horizon League Play. Due to COVID-19 issues, the two teams did not meet during the shortened season. In 2019, the Norse handed the Raiders a 2-1 loss at Alumni Field.
