Raiders post several PRs at Live in Lou XC Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Wright State cross country teams competed at the 21st annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.Â
The Wright State women's finished 29th out of 47 schools in the 5,000-meter race with an average time of 19:43.7. The men's team took 28th overall in the 8,000-meter run with an average mark of 25:26.4.Â
Alicia Neumeier highlighted the women's team efforts, as she finished 35th out of 419 competitors with a personal-record time of 18:32.2. Emma Shigley posted a PR time of 18:46.3, good for 55th overall. Emma Johnson rounded out Raiders in the top 100, taking 78th with a mark of 19:00.8.Â
The quartet of Nataly Duenas-Diaz (306, 20:48.2), Alycea Ruhlen (363, 21:31.3), Anna Johnson (364, 21:32.2), and Brooklyn Salyers (412, 23:38.1) rounded out WSU competitors in the race.Â
Max Pettit led the Raiders on the men's side by earning 79th overall with a time of 24:39.4, besting his previous career-best mark set two weekends ago at the All-Ohio Championships. Alex McCarty was close behind Pettit in 100th place with a personal-record time of 24:47.4 in the race.Â
Jacob Poling (167, 25.22.9), Nathan Sheriff (232, 26:02.0), Patrick Statzer (258, 26:20.7), Tayton Hess (262, 26:27.9), Ethan Neblock (287, 27:03.0), Ryan Cooper (288, 27:11.7), Alan Fullenkamp (298, 28:27.5), and John Steimle (300, 29:11.5).Â
After the Live in Lou Classic, WSU will prep for a trio of meets on October 14 at the Bradley Pink Classic, Jenna Strong Fall Classic, and Falcon Invite.Â
