Women’s XC places second at Jenna Strong Fall Classic

WILMINGTON, Ohio — The Wright State women's cross country placed second out of 16 teams at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic on Friday afternoon at Wilmington College.Â
Five Raiders finished in the top 30 among 150-plus competitors in the 5,000-meter run, led by Alicia Neumeier in eighth place with a time of 19:40.1. Emma Shigley was close behind in 11th at 19:35.3, followed by Emma Johnson in 16th (20:10.6). The duo of Alycea Ruhlen and Anna Johnson were neck-and-neck in 28th and 29th overall with times of 20:43.6 and 20:43.9, respectively.Â
Brooklyn Salyers (102, 23:28.7) and Elizabeth Kilgore (122, 24:20.4) rounded out WSU individuals in the race.Â
John Steimle (134, 29:29.8), Nathan Childs (147, 30:00.8), Michael Cole (159, 30:24.6), and Jacob Wellman (212, 33:12.7) represented the Raider men in the 8,000-meter race.Â
Wright State will return to competition Saturday, October 29, at the Horizon League Championships hosted by Oakland. The meet will take place at the Oakland Cross Country Course, starting with the women's 6K at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at noon.
