Raiders ready for action at Valpo Bowling Classic

DAYTON – The Wright State women's bowling team will compete in its second-ever NCAA tournament in program history this weekend as the Raiders compete in the Valpo Bowling Classic. The Raiders are looking to continue to make positive strides as a group and are coming off of an 11th place showing at the MOTIV Penguin Classic in mid-October. Â

TOURNAMENT INFO
The Valpo Bowling Classic is a tournament running from Friday through Sunday in Dyer, Indiana at Stardust Bowl III. On Friday, the team will bowl five sets of Baker matches before bowling five traditional matches on Saturday. Action wraps up on Sunday
with three best-of-seven Baker bracket matches based on seeding. Â Â

LOOKING AT THE FIELD
In addition to Wright State and tournament-host Valparaiso, the Valpo Bowling Classic field also features: Alabama A&M, Aurora, Belmont Abbey, Carroll, Dominican, Elmhurst, Kentucky Wesleyan, No. 20 Lewis, Marian, No. 15 Maryville, No. 25 Newman, North Central, Upper Iowa and No. 18 UW-Whitewater.

Wright State finished 11th at the MOTIV Penguin Classic, as the Raiders captured their first team win in program history in head-to-head competition against Walsh as part of the action. Freshman Natalie Hanson finished with an average of 177.57 for the seven games, while sophomore Makenzie Gossett turned in a similar average of 175.29 in her seven matches to pace the Raiders in the opening tournament.
