Bowling grabs two wins in opening day of Valpo Classic

DYER, IN – The Wright State bowling team picked up a pair of wins on Friday in the opening day of the Valpo Bowling Classic and looking to carry that momentum into the weekend.

The Raiders ended first day action with a 2-3 record after five Baker matches but sit in 13th place based off total Baker points with their 4,024.

Wright State opened action with a trio of losses, falling to Lewis (1,015 -740), Newman (879-793), and Belmont Abbey (854-724) before ending the day on a high note with the back-to-back victories. The Raiders defeated Tusculum (900-858) and Carroll (922-901) to close Friday action.

Day two action will see the Raiders with five traditional matches, taking on Kentucky Wesleyan, Elmhurst, Marian (WI), Wisconsin-Whitewater and Alabama A&M. Saturday action begins at 9:35 CT in northwest Indiana.
