Senior Night on tap for Men's Soccer Saturday night

DAYTON – The Horizon League-leading Wright State men's soccer team returns home to Alumni Field for a Saturday night matchup against Purdue Fort Wayne. The Raiders will celebrate Senior Night ahead of the 5 p.m. first kick, with pregame festivities set for around 5:45 p.m. Saturday's match is scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

The Raiders (3-3-4 overall) lead the Horizon League with a 3-0-2 conference mark and 11 points to sit atop the standings, while Purdue Fort Wayne (1-6-3 overall) is at the bottom of the standings with a 0-2-2 HL record entering Saturday's tilt. Cleveland State, who the Raiders will meet in late October, are one point back in the standings in second, followed by Oakland with seven points.

Wright State was in control all afternoon Saturday as the Raiders tallied three second half goals, including a pair from Reece Allbaugh, at Robert Morris. Allbaugh put the Raiders on the board in the 51st minute with his first goal of the season before Presten Manthey added to the Wright State advantage four minutes later with his second tally in as many games. The Raiders put the game out of reach in the 70th minute when Allbaugh found the back of the net again for his second career multi-score effort.

Purdue Fort Wayne is 1-6-3 overall and 0-2-2 in the Horizon League following a 3-2 home loss to Cleveland State last Saturday. The Mastodons are winless on the road at 0-3-2 and haven't tallied a victory in seven matches since a 2-1 win against Western Illinois. Purdue Fort Wayne ended 2021 with a 5-9-2 overall record and a 3-6-1 mark in the Horizon.
