Volleyball with two on the road to close the regular season

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team hits the road for the final two matches of the regular season this weekend, traveling east to take on Robert Morris Friday night before a Saturday meeting with Youngstown State. Both matches are expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State added two more sweeps last weekend to run their winning streak to a program record 19 consecutive matches. Eight different Raiders recorded multiple kills on Friday, led by Taylor Bransfield's match-high 11 kills, while Megan Alders added nine. Callie Martin tallied three of Wright State's six service aces, while Katie Meyer passed out 33 of 38 assists for the Raiders. Saturday, Bransfield and Sam Ott each finished with 11 kills to pace the Raiders as seven different players recorded a kill, while Bransfield and Aaliyah Byers each tallied three blocks. Meyer finished with the only double-double of the match, passing out all 39 Raider kills while adding 10 digs.
HORIZON LEAGUE RAIDERS
Following this weekend's matches, the Raiders will return home to host the 2022 Horizon League Championship inside McLin Gymnasium November 18-20. Wright State will await the lowest remaining seed from Friday's opening round matchups and face them on Saturday afternoon in a 3 p.m. start. Sunday's championship contest will be a 2 p.m. start. Every match of the tournament will be streamed on ESPN+.
RECENT SERIES HISTORY
Wright State swept both of the home matchups against Robert Morris and Youngstown State in mid October. The Raiders have won all seven matchups all-time against RMU, including the first four meetings as Horizon League foes, while Wright State has won the last five meetings against Youngstown State dating back to November 2018.

- Robert Morris is 9-19 overall with a 2-14 Horizon League record. RMU has dropped its last three matches, with two wins this season at home and two wins in true road matches. They found their most success in neutral site matches, going 5-3.

The solid setting has led the Raiders to the No. 17 mark nationally with 1,381 kills, aided by their 37.03 attacks/set ratio, No. 24 nationally. Defensively, Wright State is No. 5 nationally with a 17.68 digs/set average and No. 7 nationally with 1,821 total digs. Jenna Story's 5.37 digs/set average is No. 11 nationally and her 553 total digs are No. 7 nationally.

Callie Martin has recorded double-digit digs in 23 of her 27 matches this season. Martin matched her career-best with 23 digs in Wright State's Sept. 17 four-set win over Dayton, a mark she also reached last fall against UIC (Oct. 28), and had 22 digs in a three-set victory over Northern Kentucky on Oct. 4 and a five-set win over Cleveland State on Oct. 22.
