Raiders go 3-0 with two wins over ranked teams on Sunday

STROTHERS, OH – The Wright State bowling team rolled three best-of-seven bakers matches to finish the MOTIV Penguin Classic on Sunday, winning all three matches to finish the tournament with an 11th-place finish.Â

The Raiders won all three of their best-of-seven baker matches, including two against ranked teams. Wright State opened the day with a win over No. 16 Mercyhurst (906-822) before beating Bryant (901-842), capping tournament action with a win over No. 25 Morgan State (842-818).Â

Wright State finished with a total pinfall of 12,561 and a game average of 176.9, led by Alex Drsek's 182.40 average. The Raiders also saw Jasmine Schulze average 181.20, Makenzie Gossett finish with a 174.80, Natalie Hanson have a 174.00 and Rylie Jeanneret at a 173.00 average.

Next up for the Raiders will be the Ohio Bowling Conference Event 2 next Saturday, as Wright State heads back to Columbus and Columbus Square Bowling Palace. The Raiders opened the season at the first event on October 7, taking home first and second place team finishes with their two competing teams. Wright State will also participate Sunday in the Orange & Black Classic at Poelking Lanes South in Dayton.
