Raider Bowlers bring home first-, third-place finishes on Sunday

DAYTON – The Wright State bowling team turned in first- and third place finishes on Sunday at the Orange & Black Classic, with Alex Drsek leading the way with a 192.2 average score, second amongst all bowlers.

Wright State's 'Green' squad - Alex Drsek, Makenzie Gossett, Natalie Hanson, Rylie Jeanneret, Mia Sayles, Jasmine Schulze and Kennedy Moore – finished third in their division out of 12 teams, tallying 6,176 total pins to finish behind Notre Dame College and tournament host Pikeville.

The Raider 'Gold' group - Alli Shattuck, Alina Stebbins, Abby Derham, Emma Hatfield, Anna Johns and Paige Patterson – won their six-team division, finishing with a 5,934 pinfall, nearly 300 pins more than second-place Pikeville in their bracket.

Behind Drsek, two more Raiders finished inside the top 15 in tournament average – with a 181.0 pinfall average for both Derham and Gossett to finish in a tie for 12th-best on the day.

The Raiders are back in action next weekend when they travel to take part in the Valpo Bowling Classic. The three-day event begins on Friday and runs through the weekend at Stardust Bowl III in Dyer, Indiana.
