DAYTON — The Wright State golf team announced its 2024 spring schedule on Wednesday, a slate that features five tournaments, including the Wright State Invitational, ahead of the Horizon League Championship in late April.
Â
The Raiders begin the spring in mid-February when they travel to compete in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, hosted by the University of Houston. Wright State will play in a pair of familiar settings in March, traveling to St. Simons Island, Georgia for the Sea Palms Invitational, hosted by Western Carolina, March 7-9 and then to Wilmington, North Carolina for the UNC Wilmington-hosted Seahawk Intercollegiate March 24 and 25.
Â
The Raiders close the regular season with a pair of tournaments closer to home, first at The Jewell hosted by Northern Kentucky on April 6 and 7 at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio before they play host to the Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club April 14-15. The Raiders have won the last three team titles and had the last three individual winners while serving as hosts of the event. Wright State travels to Florida for the 2023 Horizon League Championship April 20-23 at Mission Inn Resort. Â
Wright State tallied a trio of top five team finishes this fall in five total fall tournaments, wrapping up play last week. Wright State tallied three team tournament wins in 11 total events last year spanning the fall and spring schedule, adding four second place finishes as the Raiders were sixth or better in all 11 events in 2022-23.
