Volleyball set for long trek to Wisconsin this weekend

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team hits the road for weekend action in Wisconsin, as the Raiders make their longest Horizon League road trip to visit Green Bay and Milwaukee. Wright State and Green Bay will face off on Friday night in a 7 p.m. ET start before the Raiders take on Milwaukee on Saturday in a 5 p.m. ET start. Fans can follow the action both days on ESPN+ and live stats.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State split a weekend at home, falling in four sets on Friday night to Oakland before winning a five-set thriller on Saturday afternoon over Cleveland State. Friday Wright State was led by Megan Alders' match-best 18 kills while Callie Martin and Reilly Zegunis each tallied 13 kills. Martin recorded a double-double with 11 digs to go with her 13 kills and she added five blocks, while Zegunis finished with four blocks of her own. Andrea Bortulin was pressed into action and delivered her first career double-double, passing out a match high 45 assists and adding 12 digs. Saturday it was Alders and Martin again, with Alders collecting a match-best 21 kills, her third time this season with 20-plus kills, while Martin tallied her sixth double-double of the season (second of the weekend) with a 16-kill, 21-dig effort. Reilly Zegunis just missed a double-digit kill night of her own as she notched nine kills while adding four blocks. Alders and Aaliyah Byers also each had four blocks as well. Bortulin passed out 52 assists in her first collegiate start.
SERIES VS. THE PHOENIX
The Raiders tallied two wins against the Phoenix last year, including a five-setter in Green Bay to extend the all-time series lead to 37-31. Wright State has won seven straight meetings dating back to November 2019.
HISTORY AGAINST THE PANTHERS
The Raiders have won six of the last seven matchups, including a pair of three-set sweeps last year, while Milwaukee holds a 44-23 all-time series lead.

Primarily used as a serving specialist, Bortulin had 12 total assists over her first year-plus before the September 29 and 30 matches. As a server, she has 25 service aces total to date and has seven matches with two or more service aces this season.
