Volleyball set for final regular season home matches this weekend

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team returns home to McLin Gymnasium for a critical pair of Horizon League matches this weekend as the Raiders welcome Milwaukee and Green Bay to town. Wright State and Milwaukee will faceoff on Friday night in a 6 p.m. start before the Raiders take on Green Bay Saturday afternoon in a 4 p.m. start. Fans can follow the action both days on live stats.
Friday's match is Senior Night, with ceremony activities taking place after the match.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State went on the road and grabbed two wins last week, sweeping Cleveland State last Friday before a four-set victory at Oakland on Saturday. Friday, Callie Martin tallied a match-best 16 kills and Katie Meyer added a double-double while running the offensive attack, passing out 30 of the Raiders' 35 total assists while adding 13 digs. Reilly Zegunis had a 10-kill effort while Jenny Wessling finished with a match-best 23 digs Saturday saw four Raiders finish with double digit kills. led by Reilly Zegunis' match-high 16 kills, while Megan Alders and Sam Ott each had 12 kills & Aaliyah Byers added 10 kills. Ott notched her fifth double-double of the season after she collected 10 digs to go with her 12 kills.

HISTORY AGAINST THE PANTHERS
Wright State fell in four sets at Milwaukee in the first meeting of the season back on October 7 despite a pair of double-doubles from Callie Martin and Katie Meyer. Even with the loss, the Raiders have won six of the last eight matchups, while Milwaukee holds a 45-23 all-time series lead.
SERIES VS. THE PHOENIX
The Raiders grabbed a five-set victory at Green Bay on October 6, with Aaliyah Byers turning in a career-high 20 kills, including 16 in the first three sets, to lead all players.Wright State holds an all-time series lead of 38-31 and has won eight straight meetings dating back to November 2019.

- Milwaukee comes into Friday at 19-9 overall with a 11-4 Horizon League record. The Panthers saw their four match winning streak snapped on Tuesday at Green Bay. Senior Ari Miller became the third Panther in program history to record 1,500 career kills with 14 kills on Tuesday at Green Bay.
- Green Bay begins the weekend 12-14 with a 10-4 Horizon League mark, winners of their last three matches ahead of a Friday matchup with NKU. The Phoenix swept Milwaukee at home on Tuesday night but have been just 4-6 on the road overall, with all four road wins coming in Horizon League play.

Graduate students Megan Alders and Callie Martin sit atop nearly all of Wright State's offensive categories, including kills (Alders 291, Martin 271), kills per set (Alders 3.10, Martin 2.91). The pair also pace the Raiders in total points and points per set while having logged the most attack attempts on the roster.

Megan Alders begins the weekend with 291 kills and is on the verge of setting a new single season high mark (currently 306) that she set in 2021. Alders has recorded 200-plus kills three times in her career, with all coming the last three seasons (270 in 2022 and 306 in 2021) after barely missing the mark as a freshman with 197 kills.
CALLIE IT
Callie Martin enters the weekend with nine double-doubles on the season, including in seven of the last 13 matches overall. She's recorded 10-plus kills 14 times and has had 10-plus digs in 15 matches overall. She had 12 double-doubles in 2022.
A THOUSAND HELPERS
Katie Meyer reached the 1,000 career assist mark on October 7 at Milwaukee with a 43-assist effort. Meyer recorded a combined 152 helpers over her first three seasons (2019-21) before passing out 371 assists in 2022. She has 766 assists and counting this season, passing out helpers at a 9.95 assists/set clip.
