Education Day Game on tap for Women's Basketball

DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball program hosts its Education Day contest on Tuesday morning, facing off against Bowling Green in a 11 a.m. tipoff inside the Nutter Center. Fans can keep up with Tuesday morning's game by watching on ESPN+ or following live stats.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State remained undefeated at home with an 81-67 victory over Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon inside the Nutter Center.  Alexis Hutchison led the charge, tallying a season-best 32 points, one point shy of her career high, on 12-of-17 shooting as she connected on six of her eight three-point attempts. Lauren Scott added 15 points, her third double-digit scoring game in the last four contests, while Kacee Baumhower tallied 11 points of her own. Cara VanKempen notched nine points on a trio of three-pointers and Rachel Loobie finished with eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.

HISTORY VS. BOWLING GREEN
Wright State is 3-5 all-time against the Falcons, falling 102-72 on the road last season. Last season's meeting was the first time the teams squared off since an 83-76 road Raider win in Dec. 2001.

HOME COOKIN'
The Raiders are off to a 5-0 start at home for the first time since the 2015-16 season when Wright State won its first six home contests on the way to finishing with a 12-4 overall home mark that season.  Tuesday is Wright State's last home game of the 2023 calendar year, as the Raiders will head out on the road for their next five matchups before returning to the Nutter Center on Jan. 5, 2024.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN
Wright State begins the week No. 15 nationally in three-pointers made per game (12.0) after hitting 12 threes against Eastern Illinois on Dec. 9. The Raiders have connected on double-digit three-pointers four times - Southern Indiana (11/6), Mount Vernon Nazarene (11/14), Slippery Rock (11/20), Eastern Illinois (12/9).

HITTIN' THE ROAD
Wright State's Tuesday contest against Bowling Green closes out a season-opening stretch that saw the Raiders play six of their first 10 contests at home. Road Raiders the rest of December, Wright State travels to West Virginia before MTE action in Las Vegas against Wyoming and Presbyterian. The Raiders close the calendar back in Horizon League play at Youngstown State and RMU on Dec. 29 and 31.

WEEKLY HONORS
Alexis Hutchison was named the Horizon League's Player of the Week on Dec. 11 after helping propel Wright State to an 81-67 victory over Eastern Illinois on Dec. 9. Hutchison tallied a season-best 32 points in the Saturday win, just one point shy of her career high, finishing the afternoon 12-of-17 overall from the floor as she connected on six of her eight three-point attempts. She added a pair of free throws, three steals, two rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes of action. Her scoring output was just the fifth 30-plus point game in the Horizon League this season.

Fans can easily view their tickets, download them to their mobile wallet, or transfer them to another individual account.

UP NEXT
Wright State will play a second straight Education Day game when the Raiders travel to take on West Virginia next Monday, December 18 in a 10 a.m. tipoff. Next Monday's contest will stream on ESPN+.
