DAYTON — Wright State baseball head coach Alex Sogard announced the newest member of the Raidergang, signing 9-year-old Cooper Lewis through Team IMPACT on Tuesday afternoon.Â
"This is a pretty special day for the Wright State Raiders and our baseball program," Sogard said. "We are really grateful for the opportunity and excited to work with Team IMPACT again and the opportunity to sign Cooper to our team."
Lewis, who has Type 1 diabetes, signed with the Raiders in a Team IMPACT Draft Day ceremony at Nischwitz Stadium. By being a part of the Wright State baseball program, he will now get the opportunity to attend Raider practices, games, team dinners, events, and more. As teammates, the Raider baseball student-athletes join Cooper's support team.Â
