DAYTON - Conner Osterholt's 80th minute goal lifted the Wright State men's soccer team to a 1-0 home victory Saturday night over Milwaukee in Horizon League action as Alex Van der Sluijs earned his first victory as Raider head coach.

Wright State (1-2-3, 1-1-0 Horizon) controlled the offensive attack for most of the night, finishing with a 20-12 shot advantage, 12 of which attempts came in the second 45 minutes as the Raiders continued to pressure Milwaukee (2-4-0, 0-2-0 Horizon).

Wright State is back in action on Tuesday night as the Raiders remain at home at Alumni Field for an in-state non-conference matchup with Bowling Green. First touch on Tuesday night is set for 7 p.m.

The Raiders continued second half pressure culminated in the final minutes when Mounir Azzam's shot attempt was blocked by a Milwaukee defender and the ball found its way to the foot of Osterholt, who buried his shot in the bottom left corner just inside the post to give the Raiders the advantage in the 80th minute. Milwaukee pushed hard in the final minutes, only recording two shots but controlling the ball, with the visitor's final shot coming with 17 seconds remaining as Wright State keeper Alessandro Malterer was able to corral the attempt and seal the win.

Eight of Wright State's 20 shot attempts were on goal while Milwaukee placed seven of its 12 shots on frame. Azzam finished with a match-best five shots for the Raiders as Felix Ezekwuka had three shots and Jacob Adams, Reece Allbaugh and Brock Pickett each had two attempts. Malterer finished the night with seven saves, including four in the second 45 minutes, on the way to his first win as a Raider keeper.

Three players each finished with two shots each for Milwaukee and Panther goalkeeper Daniel Ibarra recorded six saves along with allowing Osterholt's game-winning goal.
