Women's Basketball begins Wisconsin weekend at Milwaukee

DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball team makes its longest road trip in Horizon League play this weekend with a pair of contests in Wisconsin, beginning Friday night as the Raiders take on Milwaukee at 8 p.m. ET. LAST TIME OUT
Wright State used a giant third quarter to pull past Northern Kentucky 90-83 as Rachel Loobie turned in a career-high 24 points as four Raiders finished in double figures scoring. Loobie finished with 24 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the floor, adding a 4-of-5 mark from the free throw line with eight rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocks to pace four Raiders in double digits scoring. Alexis Hutchison also finished with 24 points, filling her stat line with four steals, three rebounds and three assists, while Lauren Scott added 12 rebounds and Kacee Baumhower chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
CONSISTENT RECORD
Wright State has picked up six wins at home to date with a 67% home winning percentage, but the Raiders have also grabbed six wins away from home and have won 55% of those contests, with five victories in true road games to date. Entering the year, Wright State had a combined five true road wins over the last two seasons.Â
NUMBERS DON'T LIE
Wright State has two measuring sticks in the statistics that have strongly leaned towards wins or losses this season. The Raiders are 10-0 when winning at halftime but just 2-7 when trailing at the break, although they grabbed their second comeback win of the year last time out at NKU. Wright State is only 1-7 when scoring 69 or fewer points but 11-0 when its scored more than 70 points.
KNOW THE FOE
- Milwaukee is 11-10 overall with a 5-5 mark in the Horizon but dropped its last contest on Jan. 20 at Detroit Mercy to snap what had been a four-game winning streak.
- Over her last nine games, Anna Lutz has averaged a near double-double with a 11.8 points/game mark to go along with 8.1 rebounds/game
- Wright State took the first meeting of the season 77-70 at the Nutter Center and the Raiders have won two in a row in the series.
