Raiders trek to Milwaukee for weekend pair

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team will play its second-straight road weekend of matches, as the Raiders travel to Wisconsin to take on Milwaukee. Weekend action begins with a 7 p.m. ET match on Friday night before a 3 p.m. ET start on Saturday afternoon. Both matches are expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State swept a pair of road matches at Youngstown State, finishing the six sets with a 100-59 overall kill advantage while averaging 16.67 kills per set and 18.33 digs per set. The Raiders hit .340 as a group for the weekend and were led offensively by Sam Ott's 29 kills (4.83 kills/set) and Mya Ayro with 28 kills (4.67 kills/set). Lauren Yacobucci passed out 86 assists (14.33 assists/set) while four Raiders had double-digit digs, led by Jenny Wessling's 32 digs (5.33 digs/set).
ANOTHER HL HONOR FOR LAUREN
Lauren Yacobucci was named Horizon League Player of the Week on Oct. 14 for the second time this season after passing out 86 assists for a 14.33 assist per set average in last week's two sweeps at Youngstown State.
NATIONALLY SPEAKING. . .
Wright State enters the weekend with a  14.71 kills per set average, currently No. 2 nationally, while the Raiders' 13.82 assists per set average is No. 1 in the country, aided in large part to Lauren Yacobucci's 11.92 assist per set average, which is No. 1 in the country. Yacobucci's 739 total assists are No. 7 nationally, while Jenny Wessling has a 4.74 digs per set average, currently No. 29 in the country.
KNOW THE FOE
- Milwaukee is 11-8 overall with a 6-1 Horizon League mark, coming off its first loss in HL play last Saturday. The Panthers are 4-2 at home to date with a combined 7-6 mark in road and neutral site matches. Milwaukee's loss on Saturday snapped what had been a six match winning streak.
STANDING TALL
With five weeks remaining in the regular season, Wright State currently sits atop the Horizon League standings with a perfect 7-0 mark in HL play. The Raiders enter this weekend's matches with Milwaukee a match ahead in the standings to the Panthers, currently in second at 6-1. Beyond Wright State and Milwaukee is a group of teams all at 4-3 in League action - Cleveland State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Northern Kentucky and Green Bay. Wright State has matches remaining on the schedule against Purdue Fort Wayne and Northern Kentucky, while the Raiders will be hosting Green Bay next weekend.
