Raiders set to welcome Cleveland State for weekend action

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team welcomes Cleveland State to town for a pair of Horizon League weekend contests, beginning with a 6 p.m. match on Friday night before a 2 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon. Both matches are expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State opened the week with a three-set sweep over visiting Northern Kentucky with three Raiders tallying double digit kills. Mya Ayro led all players with 14 kills, while Reilly Zegunis and Sam Ott each had 10 kills as Ott added eight digs and a service ace. Lauren Yacobucci passed out 39 of the Raiders' 43 assists and added two service aces. Jenny Wessling had a match-best 19 digs and Jenny Morey was also in double figures with 10 digs of her own as Katie Sowko notched nine digs.
SERIES SHAKEDOWN
Wright State leads the all-time series 45-37 over Cleveland State thanks in part to three Raider wins last season, Â including in the HL Tournament semifinals. The Raiders have won the last 13 meetings against the Vikings dating back to November 2018.

- Cleveland State is 11-3 overall with a 2-1 Horizon League record, opening HL action with a weekend split against Northern Kentucky before a Tuesday win over Oakland. The NKU loss was Cleveland State's lone blemish in its last eight contests, while the Vikings are a combined 7-1 in road and neutral site matches (3-1 true road, 4-0 neutral).

Wright State has had three players finish with double figure kills in six matches to date, with four Raiders tallying double digit kills in the Sept. 15 win at Ohio State. The Raiders have finished two of their three losses with two or less players with double digit kills (Dayton, Bowling Green).Â
