Volleyball back at home for pair this weekend

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team returns home from its quick midweek road match and welcomes Robert Morris to town for a pair of Horizon League weekend contests inside McLin Gymnasium, beginning with a 6 p.m. match on Friday night before a 2 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State opened the week with a road sweep at Northern Kentucky on Tuesday night, with Reilly Zegunis leading the way with 11 kills, while Haley Robinson had a complete stat line with nine kills and seven blocks. Mya Ayro and Sam Ott each chipped in eight kills as Ott added eight digs. Lauren Yacobucci notched another double-double, passing out 37 of the Raiders' 47 assists and adding 10 digs, while Jenny Wessling led all players with 19 digs.
NATIONALLY SPEAKING. . .
Wright State enters the weekend with a  13.96 assists per set average, tops in the country, while the Raiders' 14.73 kills per set average is also No. 1 in the country. Lauren Yacobucci's 12.06 assist per set average is No. 1 in the country while her 989 total assists are also No. 1 nationally. Jenny Wessling has a 5.00 digs per set average, currently No. 17 in the country.

- Robert Morris is 9-14 overall with a 4-8 Horizon League mark, coming off a Tuesday win over Youngstown State. Prior to Tuesday, RMU had lost seven of its last eight matches. RMU's win on Tuesday was its first true road victory of the season (1-7) as the Colonials are a combined 4-9 in road and neutral contests.

With three weeks remaining in the regular season, Wright State currently sits atop the Horizon League standings with a 11-1 mark in HL play, one match ahead of second-place Milwaukee (10-2) and three matches ahead of third-place Cleveland State & Purdue Fort Wayne (each 8-4). The Raiders' closing schedule features RMU (t7th, 4-8), Purdue Fort Wayne (t3rd, 8-4) and Oakland (9th, 3-9).
