DAYTON – The Wright State women's basketball team fell to Green Bay 75-62 on Thursday evening. The Raiders will play again on Saturday, January 25, taking on the Milwaukee Panthers. The game is set for a 4 p.m. tipoff and will stream on ESPN+.

Wright State (4-16, 2-8 HL) ended the night shooting 41.5 percent overall from the floor, 52.9 percent from three, and shot 9-of-14 on the line. Two Raiders saw double-digit scoring, as Claire Henson led the team with 12 points, followed by Makiya Miller with 10 points. Macie Taylor closely trailed, adding nine points for the Raiders, while Lauren Scott and Amaya Staton each had seven points on the night. Olivia Brown and Abbie Riddle each added three of WSU's 11 assists.

The Raiders finished with 27 rebounds, as Brown, Chloe Chard Peloquin, Henson, and Staton each grabbed four off the backboard. Riddle followed with three rebounds on the night. WSU had three steals with one each by Miller, Staton, and Taylor.

The game began close, with four lead changes in the first quarter, as the Raiders shot 42.9 percent overall to Green Bay's 35.5 field goal percentage. The Raiders held an initial 7-6 lead at the first quarter media timeout, made up by a three by Miller, a jumper by Henson, and two free throws from Chard Peloquin. After the Phoenix gained a one-point advantage, WSU went on a 7-0 run of a layup and turnaround jumper by Taylor and a three by Scott, taking a 14-8 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the period. Green Bay gained the advantage with under 30 seconds in the quarter, putting up a layup while drawing a foul to make it a three-point play, 18-16.

Green Bay took a 36-27 lead at the half, outscoring WSU 18-11. After the second quarter, the Raiders were shooting 37 percent from the floor, going three-of-six from three. Henson, Miller, and Scott each recorded five points, while Chard Peloquin and Henson grabbed four rebounds.

In the second half, WSU shot 46.2 percent from the floor, going 6-of-11 from three, while holding the Phoenix to just one three-pointer. Henson and Staton led the Raiders, each adding seven points. The Raiders saw their best scoring quarter in the fourth, outscoring Green Bay 20-17, and going on a ten-point run with just over four minutes remaining. The run began with a layup by Staton, followed by a free throw from Scott. Staton added another two points with a jumper in the paint. Taylor put up back-to-back shots, sinking a jump shot from three and a driving layup. Ellie Magestro-Kennedy scored the final points of the night, making a three-pointer with 18 seconds remaining.

Green Bay (16-5, 9-1 HL) finished shooting 46.7 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from three, and 88.2 percent on the line. They were led by Jasmine Kondrakiewicz with a career high of 31 points. Natalie McNeal joined in the double-digit scoring with 15 points, making it a double-double with 12 rebounds.
