DAYTON — The Wright State golf team announced its 2026 spring schedule on Friday, a slate that features six tournaments, including the Wright State Invitational, ahead of the Horizon League Championship in late April.
The Raiders begin the spring in early February at the Lake Jovita Invitational in Dade City, Florida on February 9 and 10. They stay south the following week when they compete in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, hosted by the University of Houston on February 16 and 17. Wright State will then open March in a familiar setting, traveling to St. Simons Island, Georgia for the Peoples Golf Championship, presented by Sea Palms Resort, March 12-14 and before heading to South Pittsburg, Tennessee March 23-25 for the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate.
Wright State ends March in the Memphis suburbs at the Memphis Intercollegiate March 30 and 31 before closing the regular season by playing host to the Wright State Invitational, presented by Joes Landscaping, April 12-13 at Heatherwoode Golf Club. The Raiders have won the last five team titles and had the last five individual winners while serving as hosts of the event. Wright State travels to Florida for the 2026 Horizon League Championship April 25-27 at Mission Inn Resort.
Wright State captured its ninth Horizon League Championship in Florida last spring, the second-most all-time in the Horizon League, while Wright State has now won four team HL championships in the last six seasons with a pair of second-place finishes in the two other years. The Raiders finished with six top-five finishes in 12 total tournaments last season spanning the fall and spring schedule, highlighted by three-straight team titles in April – at The Jewell, Wright State Invitational and Horizon League Championship. Timmy Hollenbeck and Shane Ochs earned Horizon League Co-Golfer of the Year honors and Conner Lash was recognized as the League's Coach of the Year, with Hollenbeck and Ochs both also named to the seven-member HL Golf All-Academic Team.
This fall, the Raiders had a trio of top five team finishes, including grabbing the team title at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate, while they were second at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and finished tied for fourth in the shorted Virtues Intercollegiate and saw four individual champions as well.
